What are the maximum supported specs regarding cpu's for this board? The Abit site gets a bit fuzzy here, not distinguishing well between Rev 1.0 and 1.1.

Thanks for the help!

From what I understand the ver 1.0 does not support coppermine processors because of a voltage problem. The most you could get out of it is a P3 600mhz (Non-coppermine, the one with the 512k cache). The ver 1.1 has an updated voltage setup that will support coppermine CPU's with a bios flash.

When Abit released the SS bios they reported that the board now supported Coppermine chips, this has been edited to Celeron 2 now, but I've read of several people who are running Coppermines.

As for the max speed, Coppermines set their own multiplier, so any E type Coppermine should do. The EB's will require that you run at 133 MHz FSB which the board isn't suited for.

I have one of the original 1.0x BH6 boards, no idea what bios it has right now, but I can CONFIRM that it works with coppermines. I am running a 550e FCPGA @ 733 @ 1.6 w/ an MSI Slocket, no problems. Now, it's not the best board for overclocking, since it jumps from 100 to 112 to 124 to 133 and only has a 1/3 pci multiplier, but it'll do the job.

Cheers,

I just sold my Abit BH6 1.0x. But I ran a Celeron 2 566 overclocked to 850 with an Iwill slotket2. It ran FLAWLESSLY at 1.65 volts!!!! Great board.
