I recently acquired a used BH6 mb, ver 1.0. Its voltage goes upto 1.7 max. I know there is a way to increase default voltage higher than 1.7.

does anyone know how?
 
Try flashing the bios.The latest bios for your board is on the abit website,along with info on how to flash,or update the bios.
 
There was trick that you set the voltage to 1.7 and then flash the bios. The new bios would read 1.7V as default V and voltages uptop 1.9V will become available.
