I added a LeadTek GeForce2MX AGP to my BH-6v1.01 running W98se. Prior to, the computer runs (ran) perfectly in all respects. After installing the new video card, the GeForce2 would not allow the computer to shut down. The monitor goes blank and the monitor light slowly flashs yellow, indicating a sleep, standby or suspend state. The computer keeps running. I have tried numerous drivers from LeadTek and Nvidia. I installed each properly, starting the process by changing the adapter setting to Standard PCI VGA before installing new drivers. Removed old drivers each time. I have disabled all power management; disabled all unnecessary applications from starting; checked system info and device manger - no conflicts. LEadTek tech support states that GeForce2 needs AGP2.0 compliance. Careful reading of some other current video card manufacturers suggest the same. My BH6v1.01 is only AGP 1.0 compliant, although some BH6 users report they can get GeForce 2 cards to work with no problems. I can't. LeadTek says its a voltage design issue to the AGP slot. Haven't heard back from ABIT yet.

Question: Has anyone; (A) encountered this problem AND (B)fixed it.....! If so, how?
thank you

That was a bug in some of the earlier Detonator drivers. What version are you using? Try the 6.72 drivers, which I've found to work the best.

Also make sure you have your latest chipset drivers. I had problems running my GF2 MX in AGP x2 mode and upgrading my drivers completely cured the problem.

This page has some good info.

BFG.
thanks for the suggestions. I have tried Nvidia 6.50 and the 6.72 provided by the LeadTek tech support folks. The post below yours suggest 10.80? I assume I can find a link to those on the FAQ site you provided and will give them a try. From the looks of it, the FAQ will provide lots of things to try..... From what I have just read, my Abit may have the so called 'voltage' problem that effects power to the card. Chipset Drivers? My old Abit BH6v1.01 is a BX board. I am not sure what you mean about chipset drivers for it...? But I'm working on it.
