I have an older machine with the "old trusty" Celery 300A + Abit BH6 combo overclocked to 464. It's been about 2 years, and the processor is still running strong, but I want to explore my options for a 'quick & easy' upgrade for that computer.

My question is: will the newest Celeron (8x100) work in the Abit BH6 (ver 1)???

I'm pretty sure that the latest BIOS release allows a multiplier of 8. I'm just not sure if the mobo will accept the Celery800 (with FCPGA-to-Slot1 adapter, of course) or if the BH6 provides the appropriate voltage.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!

I am pretty sure it will, I have a slot 1 650 in mine and that works well.

I am however considering getting the SH6 from abit, more features and not that much of an upgrade cost wise, the only thing that will be a problem for you is the cpu retention mounts, they dont work with the SECC2 chips too well, I just rested my cpu in there until I either got a new board or some new mounts, looks like the board it is :) good luck
