Hello friends,
I've assembled a machine: Abit BF6, P-II 400, 256MB PC100 RAM, Diamond V770 Ultra, Western Digital 20.5 GB HDD, Pioneer 16X DVD-ROM, Yamaha 4416 EZ CD-RW (slave to Pioneer DVD), and SB-Live X-Gammer. HDD has 3 partitions: 7G 7G and 6G. With Win98SE installed. It worked fine until I tried to install Linksys NIC as part of the EtherFast Switched network in a box from Linksys. After I installed the NIC. The machine booted past CPU and memory checking. Then it reported 2 IDE deviced found my WD205B and Pioneer. It hung right after that. My SB-Live is on PCI slot #5. I tried NIC on PCI slot #2, #3, and #4. All with the same result. Any idea?
Thanks in advance for any help!
(BTW, any other NIC in the same package works fine now in my 2-years old AMD-K6 166 machine.)
