This is probably just a shot in the dark and I am not really sure this is the correct forum.
I decided to install Windows XP and cannot get even to the file load onto hard drive portion. I get the blue screen of death with the error "Plug and play has shut down Windows XP startup due to probably a faulty driver"
Error code on bottom is 0x000000CA and there is not reference in manual for the code CA.
I am running an Abit BF6 with a Diamond Viper 770 (non ultra). 598 ram.
I have flashed bios to the newest version but did not help the problem.
Tech support at Abit advised me that the BF6 construction is very close to the BE6 and it should work just fine.
I am certain I am fighting a hardware conflict so if anyone has any ideas I sure would be appreciative!
I also tried removing all hardware from computer with exception of the video card and disabling bios and video caching per blue screen suggestions but no effect.
