just got one last week & i went to check if there were any bios updates for it. the latest abit has listed on their website is a CG but my motherboard shows it running CW. i guess i'm running the latest bios on this board?

reason i ask is that i can't get xp pro to install on this combo(p4 2 gig & my abit board). the xp pro install goes thru the first part when i run it from the command line(it's a clean install). but when the install asks me to reboot, it just stops at the "verifying dmi pool data" part. i can see my drive & boot just fine from a floppy. any ideas?

i have 2 drives: 30GB and 10GB on the same channel, so i'm not currently running raid. actually, i think i have it figured out. i plugged the drives into the secondary(non-raid) port & the install picked up where it left off. looks like the xp-supplied driver won't work. so, my plan is to install xp, put the newer raid driver on when prompted, then plug the drives back into the raid port & see what happens.

You have to hit F6 and install any RAID controller drivers when you install XP. (it is one of the first things you have to do during the install)If you want to install XP from your regular IDE, just enable the RAID controller in the BIOS and XP should ask for them after the install in completed. Then you can just switch it back.
