Hey,

Looking to pick up a budget mobo to throw my P4 2.26 on. Most certainly interested in OC'ing (chip hits 150FSB @ default vcore). Was going to get the Albatron PX845PEV PRO because a) it'd match my blue and silver color scheme, b) I've heard it's a great overclocker, and c) I love their GF4 line of video cards.

However I did just read that 4 page long thread on the board, and losing my memory timings (I didn't pay big bucks for this uber-GEiL memory not to run it at uber-settings ;)) as well as the ability to run my ATI 9700 PRO just don't appeal to me too much.

So if you use the Abit board, please share your thoughts with me, I've got about 4 days until I'll need to make this purchase. :D

I've had a BE7-RAID since last week. So far this board has been excellent. I can't speak for the overclocking capabilities as I haven't had time to do much tweaking.

Rock solid stable and seems quite speedy (nice step up from my old Athlon T-Bird 1.4 Ghz).

My only worry has been the voltages the board has been reporting on the +12V rail. It keeps indicating between 11.10 and 11.40 on my new Sparkle FSP350-60BTS. No stability problems, wierdness, or random reboots so I'm guessing the on-board volt meter is a little miscalibrated. I'm trying to get my hands on a multimeter so I can get a second reading.

Config:
Abit BE7-RAID
1x 256MB PC2100 Crucial (the other one got toasted by my old PSU while I was still running my Athlon 1.4 and EPoX 8K7A+)
VisionTek GeForce 3
WinTV PCI TV Tuner
2x Maxtor 7200 RPM 80GB Quiet Drives (liquid bearings)
1x Maxtor 5400 RPM 80GB
1x 16x Pioneer DVD
1x 16/10/40A Plextor CD-RW
2 cheapie case fans that run directly off the PSU +12V rail

45 degrees C under minimal/no load

~50 C under general use (winamp/email/explorer/aim/openoffice)

60 C under heavy load (distributed.net)
