Someone gave me an ABIT board (BE6) but I amnot sure which version it is..how do I tell? Thinking of putting a PIII 1000 CPU on it but according to the spec sheet it may not fit on the BE6 but will fit ion the BE6 II board

Thanks,

Mattlock

Check your BIOS version in the lower left corner when booting up, then go to Abit's site and compare to their BIOS listing.

If you look at the very last ISA slot, on the edge facing the end of the motherboard, there will be a sticker detailing exactly which motherboard it is. The downside is that if it is already in a computer, you'll have to pull the mobo out to see the sticker.

IF you can get a dentist's/mechanic's mirror, perhaps you can slip it in a see well enough to read the sticker.

Good luck,

Joe
