Can someone please think back with there old Abit BX board (BE6 or BE6-II) and an addon ATA100 card. I can't get my system to work when both controllers are active. Does anyone know how to get these to work together?

Or How can I run 6 ide devices on there own channels?

Thanks,
-JC

I remember BE6-II being a REAL PIA when it came to getting the right slot for each card. If I recall right you need to have the addon card in like slot 3 and buss mastering enabled. Also you need your boot drive on the onboard controller or ensure that no bootable OS exists on any drive on the onboard controller and use the addon as your boot drive host. If you have a bootable drive on both controllers priority will always go to the onboard device.

That's ^ not PIA, that's just oldschool. Everything, all add on cards were like that at one time. And that time sucked!

Well in that time frame, when you compared setting up the BE6 II to say an MSI BX Master, the BX Master was a real joy to work with in comparison. The Abit was very picky.
