ARghhhhhhh....
Okay, doing a nice thing, bought a great new case with added cooling for my boyfriends computer. So far so good....
BUT after moving everything over it suddenly it won't detect the mouse.
I don't know if the board is fried, I do not see any shorts.
I've removed all cards except the video card. To reduce conflicts, if any.
I've tried other mice, and interestingly, even a USB mouse won't work. At least not for long, got it to work once, but after reboot it wouldn't detect.
Occasionally even the keyboard will not work in Windows (98SE).
Other notes...
Originally had XP Pro on the machine.
After the mouse problem, tried reformatting and reloading Windows... 98SE with plans to do the XP upgrade.
Was unable to get the ABIT drivers to load, because they REQUIRE a mouse, as keyboard tabs don't work with the software (and what's up with that????)
This was a machine I had originally built for myself. As I upgrade mine, I trickle my stuff down to my boyfriend. Thought I'd do an upgrade just for him for a change, bought him the Radeon 8500 last week, and the new case this week.
Please tell me I didn't fry this motherboard. And if I did, where can I get another be6-11 raid board?
Thanks!
Diana
