For some reason after my pc has been on for a few mins, I get this beeping noise from the built in speaker. It sounds kind of like a siren.....high pitch beep, low pitch beep, high pitch beep, low pitch beep......etc.etc. It doesn't turn off until I restart the computer, and then it just comes right back on after a few more mins. I have the case open right now, so I don't know what could be causing the problem. Any one have any insight into this? Any way to fix this?

Thanks in advance.

Are you running Motherboard Monitor by anychance?

I had the same problem and realised that Motherboard monitor was causing the Bios temperature warning system to trigger and sound. This is what the beeping noise is.

If you check in the Bios, under the 'PC Health' section (I think that's what it's called) you can turn off this warning and the sound won't come back.

Beware that if you are not running MotherBoard Monitor then the motherboard is telling you that something is too hot!

To get MotherBoard monitor to stop doing this I had to set it up as follows -

Sensor 1 as WinBond 1 for the Case temperature
Sensor 2 as WinBond 2 P2 thermal diode for the CPU temperature
Sensor 3 as WinBond 3 for the add-on thermal reader

I haven't turned the BIOS warning back on yet but everything should be fine.

Let me know if this works.

There is also a Bios update to correct some of the false alarms from the motherboard monitor in Bios

So how do I know if my pc is running too hot? Or even what piece of hardware is the culprit?

As I understand it (and Mastertech may know much better than me) it could any one of a number of devices.

However for me it was always linked to the CPU... Motherboard Monitor seemed to be watching the wrong sensor to read the CPU temperature - in my case it was reading the case temperature.

This wasn't a problem until I tried to config the program to look at the other two sensors. I could only configure the program by turning the warning system off in the Bios to ensure that the motherboard didn't trip it's safety system.

Are you running Motherboard Monitor? If so, which version?
