Hi there,

I'd like to hear from you if you had any problems with this motherboard and a GeForce2 based video card.

My first try was with a ELSA GLADIAC. It just keeps beeping in my computer as if there is no video card installed. After some take-outs and take-ins, it works until I turn the computer off. Then the problem comes back.

Now I got a ASUS V7700. Same thing! 🙁

I've tried lowering and upping the I/O core voltage in BIOS and messing with "AGP Transfer Mode" and nothing. I have "Assign IRQ to VGA" enabled and "VGA Palette Snoop" disabled.

The interesting part: a Diamond TNT2 and a Permidia2 AGP card work normally in this same motherboard. I think this mobo doesn't like GeForce2 cards. 🙁

What could be wrong? Please, help! Tell me what are the settings you have in BIOS. This problem is driving me crazy already. 🙁

Thank you very much,

Rayon(r)

Ok, I originally had problems with my Geforce card, and when I put in the Geforce2 card everything worked great... but...

I had to have 3.5V IO voltage
AGP 1/1, and I am overclocked @113Mhz
Video Shadow Off
Video Bios cachable Disabled
Video Ram Cachable Disabled
AGP Apature 64Meg
Assign IRQ VGA Enabled

Spook,

What is you GeForce2 video card? ASUS? ELSA? CL?

The reason I'm asking is that I talked to someone in the Abit technical support over the phone and they told me that the EXACT two cards I tried were not tested by them. Can you believe it?

Owners out there, if you have a Abit BE6-II and a GeForce2 video card, please post here the make/model of you GeForce2 card along with BIOS settings related to video and AGP (e.g. AGP Aperture Size, AGP Transfer Mode, I/O Voltage).

Thanks a lot,

I've used in my system the Herc Geforce SDR and DDR, Elsa SDR, and My current board the Herc Geforce2 64Meg DDR....

Well, this one I think they tested.

I wonder if there is someone out there that has a GeForce2 from ELSA or ASUS working with BE6-II.

Thanks again, Spook.

Well I don't have an Abit BE6-II but I am running an Abit KA7 with a Gladiac. I did call Abit tech support and they started that most of their motherboards have this problem with the geforce 2. They state that it is a timing issue with the geforce 2 on boot up and state they might have a fix for it in their next bios release for their motherboards. I had tried a Prophet II 32mb and always got the beeps when I turned on the computer. I ended up returning it for a Gladiac and so far it has worked fine.
