They are also wrong. Dont go by Abits website. Ask people here. According to Abit, you can't run 1 GHz CPU's on the BH6/BX6/BE6. Guess what? Tons of people do it anyway.

For instance, here is what Abit says about the BH6:
BH6 CPU

Here is what an Anandtech member (me) says:
BH6 @ 1120 Mhz

The beauty of the Internet lies in the fact that there is more than one source of information.

Thanks for the info. I know that there are a few people running the 1ghz on the BH6. But i'm yet to hear about the BE6.

Check the alt.comp.periphs.mainboard.abit Usenet group. Its a commonly asked question there. The answer appears to be yes.

I have just upgraded an original BE6 with a 1.1Ghz Celeron about three weeks ago, and have had no problems with it. Here is a link to another success story.

I just manually set the voltage to 1.75 volts on the slocket(not really necessary-can be left at default) and to 1.75 volts in the BIOS(along with the other usual settings). Make sure to flash to the latest BIOS first(TH) though(which you may have already done-since it has been a while since Abit has released a new one for the BE6). The BIOS reports the CPU voltage to be 1.74 volts with a generic 250W power supply and is as stable as ever.

BTW, the CPU I used was the 1.1Ghz Celeron with 128kb cache.
