Abit BE-6 and RAM problem.

I have been running 128MB of RAM on my BE-6 board for more than 1 year now. Today, I just received another 256MB of RAM to upgrade my machine. However, after inserting the 256 into DIMM #1 and the 128 into DIMM #1 or #3 ..... the boot-up/POST memory test only detected 256MB of RAM. What is wrong ?? Please help !

*256MB RAM - Kingston ValueRAM
*128MB RAM - Apacer

Unfortunately, not all ram works in all boards. I've encountered two sided sticks which were only recognized as single sided and hence, only got 1/2 the memory accessed.

Having said that, try just the 256 stick by itself to make sure it's being recognized as 256MB.

Is your Bios the latest? ABit has occasionally addressed memory issues via bios updates.
