Abit AW9D MAX motherboard is available at ZipZoomFly for $219.99 with free shipping. Not too many stores carry it at this moment.

This was listing for $299 just yesterday. 4 hours and it's already out of stock, not even 5am yet. :p

Kentsfield compatible, I am so interested in this board with a Q6600 down the road! :)

And even that gets blocked if you've got a couple of video cards in there.

From what the review said in the dual gpu scenario you have basically no expansion slots.

Edit #2: Now I have found that there are 4 pin to 8 pin converters. Seems to me that this would do the trick (other than having 4 wires carry the full load of the aux power supply). With the molex connector, still seems like this would be enough power for this board. Anyone see why not?

Edit: Seems that you do indeed need the 8 pin aux connector (per motherboard forum). Oh well, so much for that. I'm not going to trash my power supply for "this" new board. On to the next one! :)

Just curious, do you need the 8 pin aux ATX connector? My power suppy has the 4 pin aux but not an 8 pin model? Need a newer supply to run this board?

EPS12 connectors aren't anything new, supposed to be better for power stability anyway. 4-> 8 pin adapters are strongly not recommended, but I don't recall if this was due more for the board or the PSU, or both.

Neo HE line has this connector :) And from what I have heard, EPS12 is needed for Kentsfield to run on a board anyway. :)

Yes, major bummer there. It would bum me out to see my x-fi sitting on the shelf......

Where have you been??

C2D fan(atic)s have been loving up the ASUS P5B, ASUS P5W-DH, Gigabyte DQ6, and Intel Bad Axe... all of which are $250-280 usually. :p

This board appears to be capable of out-overclocking the P5W-DH, it already outperforms it nicely, and costs ~40 less doing it. :)
