ABIT AV8 939 VIA K8T800 Motherboard

I have a 3500+ in it right now, but if I keep it around for distributed computing I can basically double it's output for $70.

I cant find good info on the board anywhere since it's two years old now. Will I have to flash the Bios? I've never done that before and have no floppy if that matters.

It supports Dual Cores just fine however it must be BIOS version 2.1 at least. It's on 2.7 now. So I'd say if you haven't you should be updating the BIOS anyways.

I have an idea to let you do it; I'll get to that in just a moment.

I have no floppy on the machine or at all. Although if 100% necessary I could buy a drive and disk I suppose. It'll be a few weeks before I know what version I have.

I've flashed HP machines without a floppy drive, despite being told it must be done from a floppy drive. If you look around you can often find the floppy image in an ISO image ready to burn onto CD. You can then flash the motherboard by booting from the CD. I've done this to load the original MSI BIOS over the HP one. I did this on the 7093 and 7184 motherboards.

I'll look into it, thanks.
