Abit AT7-Max2

Hey, has anyone seen this on sale or when this will be on sale? This board looks pretty interesting. But I have some questions about the memory, Since the Via Kt400 supports 4gb of pc2700 memory, how come the board only supports 2gb of pc2700 memory. Can anyone give me some clues or tell me why? did I have the wrong info that the Kt400 supports 4gb or something abit did?

BUMP!!!

I was also wondering when the Abit AT7-Max2 and the KD7 are going to go on sale. Any die hard Abit fans got any inside news or links for us?

gokul28228: I believe the difference in ram support is due to stability issues. I heard from another site it is hard to get it stable right now.

Since 1GB PC2700 modules don't exist I'd say it's a non-issue. Even if they did, DDR is so unstable at 200MHz that any kind of multiple DIMMs are a very bad idea.

wow, integrated 6-channel audio and NIC on the KD7... i never thought i would see the Abit flagship AMD mobo have integrated stuff on them. weird.

That junk is fine for the MAX, but leave it off the good boards. Abit is sinking back down as fast as they came up.
