Can anyone cinfirm whether the new BIOS release from ABIT does in fact allow the FSB to run at 333 ?
The wording looks like it does, but the spec sheet dosen't make the 333FSB statement.
It's between this Mobo and an ASUS A7N8X Dlx, for what to match to the XP2800+.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BIOS ID: C5
Provides CPU settings for AMD Athlon XP 2500+/2600+/2800+/3000+(333).
Fixes LAN transfer error after 96 hours continuous LAN test while CPU/DRAM = 100/133 and 100/166.
Revises the CPU and UUID information in DMI pool, and also fills in the SVID/SSID of IDE controller.
Fixes the issue that Windows 98SE shows corrupt screen with ATI Radeon 9700 Pro.
Adds "Enhance PCI Performance" function to improve PCI RAID performance.
Fixes "Shutdown When CPU overheat" and "Shutdown When CPU FAN Fail" function failure under Windows 2000.
Changes ACPI Code to pass HCT ACPI test.
HPT374 BIOS version 1.22.
BIOS Compile Date: 12/03/2002
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Want to match it to the Abit Media Panel interface, which I know will work on the ABIT,
but not sure if it will play with the ASUS. I know the Asus A7N8ZX Dlx takes a BIOS
flash to cure it's issues, and If the ABIT willl run the 333FSB, it should perform well.
Anybody try this flash-up with a new CPU yet?
P.S. - Nobody has given me a convincing argument as to why the Asus A7N8X Dlx
was a serious performer in another post here.
"Mine dosen't suck" is NOT a definitive answer.
