ABIT AN8, 2x512 Corsair + 2x1GB Kingston, XFX 6800GT, WD250GB + Maxtor 200GB, Merdian 480W PSU, Win XP
System was fine yesterday except steam updated and locked the system (grrr) but just rebooted & booted today w/o issue, but I came back to it an hour later and Windows had frozen. Rebooted and wouldn't display anything on the screen.
No XP/virus updates.
LED displays error code 29 - the manual says
1.program CPU internal MTRR for 0-640k
2.initialise the APIC
I reset the CMOS - still no display and I have to press F1 to continue.
reseated memory & video
tried with 1 memory stick.
put all memory back in....
now LED displays FF (booting?) but does nothing and no display on the screen.
I have no spare video/PSU/etc to swap out.
Any ideas as to what has failed? CPU /Mobo / video?
I've also emailed ABIT tech support.
