Abit AN8 Ultra: FanEQ freezes pc

Hi,

For some reason if i turn on the CPU FanEQ function in the uGuru section of the bios my pc won't load windows. It freezes during the "load screen" that is, when the 3 blue squares scroll across the little box. Turning off the function in the bios retunrd everyhting to normal.

I have the following settings:

CPU Fan High Temp: 50C
CPU Fan Low Temp: 40C

CPU Fan High Voltage: 12v
CPU Fan Low Voltage: 8v

Running 3200+ Venice , 512mb Transcend ram.

Got stock cooling. Fan runs at about 3200rpm without any tweaking.

Cool 'n Quiet is disabled in the bios, but the driver is installed, although this shouldn't make any difference.

Nothing overclocked.

Any ideas?

Are you running the latest BIOS?

Personally, I just turned FanEQ off on my AN8 Ultra - it's an added hassle to troubleshoot and when oc/ing I don't need that.
