I'v just purchased the Zalman CNPS7000A-Cu Ultra-Quiet CPU Cooler and found that because the cpu socket on my motherboard (ABIT Ai7 )is at an angle, the heatsink base will not obviously not fall flush with the cpu and it cannot be installed at any other angle. Can I rectify this with some sort of extra attachment?

I am currently experiencing overheating problems.

Although I cannot be of any service to you, I too have an Abit AI7. That angled design is quite odd, and proves to be a flaw in many instances. Installing the Zalman regularly doesn't cover the core (meaning, just install it straight). With the information I know, it should do just fine.

thx, i was worried that the improper coverage of the whole surface area of cpu might be the cause. :D

I have an Ai-7 running Prescott 2.8E. Its cooled with Zalman 7000.
Angle shouldn't be a problem as it covers everything except a small corner area.
