Abit AI7 post code 41, bios error

heya all, i seem to be having alot of troubles with the AI7
currently when i boot up the post code goes to '41' and the system has a costant stream of very quick beeps, on the screen i get a message,

Award boot block BIOS v1.0

Bios Rom Checksum Error

detecting floppy drive A media...
Drive A Error. System halt

Post code 41 isn't actually in the manual tho,

so i put a ms-dos book disk in with the awdflash.exe program and the AI7_19.bin files in them
it automatically boots to the awdflash program, this is what i see,

Award Bios flash utility V8.32
(c) Phoenix Technologies Ltd. All Rights Reserved

Flash Type -

File Name to program : AI7_19 .BIN

Message: Please Wait!

and this please wait message just infinitely flashes and doesn't go any further, i've tried it with the AI7_18.bin file as well,
and between each attempt have cleared the cmos jumper, if a disk is put in without the awdflash file it requests that i put this file on the disk and then press enter, if there is no .bin file on the disk, it just says "source file not found" and i have to restart it all over again, and the space between the AI7_19 and the .bin part is on purpose, as that is what i see. i really need this rig up and running today for uni.

thanks
