Abit AI7 plus P43.4EE - pwm temps shot through the roof

I just picked up a P4 3.4 Extreme Edition to play around with before I start looking at A64. Unfortunately I sold my IC7G not too long ago, but I still had an AI7. Now I know an AI7 isn't the cadillac of 478 boards, but it ought to be able to handle an EE, or so I thought.

I was screwing around looking for the chip limits, benching, etc. I decided I'd give it a prime95 run at 3.8, default voltage. Within two minutes my uGuru temp montoring has the pwm alarm going off w/ pwm temps at 75C. Backed off to stock 3.4, same thing. Processor temps are fine, basically in the same ballpark as my 2.4C.

I attribute some of that mosfet temp due to Abit's notoriously higher than reality temp monitoring, but this chip really draws the juice I suppose. Anyone with a similar experience or suggestion? Naturally I'm disgusted as this cpu seems to have real 4gig potential.

Edit - off to Abit forum looking for answers
