hi guys,

Id like to combine ABIT AA8 Duramax with :
Pentium 4 3.2G Prescott
Kingston 1G Hypermax pc 5400
GigaByte 6600 GT 128 Mb

Any thought for these? Anyone have encountered problems ?

thanx a lot.

I have the exact same setup you just mentioned 🙂 Great minds think alike! 😉

Anyway, I have my system running 250fsb @ 4000mhz. The AA8 is very peculiar in it's PCI-e frequency. If you are overclocking, I suggest an ATI graphics card for higher PCI-e frequency tolerance. My Gigabyte 6600GT can't take anything over 255fsb. I had to set the PCI-e frequency manually to 112mhz to ensure stability. The "auto" doesn't seem to work. With the new bios and uGuru, your nb should be able to handle 1.8V+ no problem and my memory (kingston PC5400) is running fine at 667mhz 4-4-4-10 @ 2.0V

The CPU accelerator doesn't seem to work for me, does anyone know if there is going to be a newer bios to activate this? I have a D0 3.2 and an D0 3.4, neither of which work. The bios v17 seems to have disabled multipliers altogether..

woaaa....glad to find person with the same thinking 🙂

I have 1 more concern about the motherboard. Right now I have 2 ATA devices on my old computer. 1 harddisk and 1 DVD RW pioneer.

Is it possible to use these 2 devices together on AA8 ?

thansk a lot

I dont think I will do the OC in the short time 😛

How do you rate your 6600GT so far? Is it doing great in the newest games available now?

It is fine for the newest games. It isn't the best performing card, but for the price, it is a great value. I haven't been able to use all the other features such as hardware video processing or rather, but I will soon...
