Ability to Ignore Threads/Topics

I know I can ignore a user, but can I choose to ignore a thread/topic?

I only see "Show Printable", E-mail, and Subscribe in the Thread Tools menu.

At this point, the capability does not exist.

Nobody is forcing you to click on a topic to enter the thread

Yes, you can but only if you are willing to use a third party tool. It is safe, as I can nearly guarantee that since I've used it for over a year with nothing happening to me to date.

If you use firefox, look into FFVB.

It allows you to ignore threads and posts (they visually, don't show up at all) by terms, author names. In contrast, it also allows you to highlight them with a different color.

If you are into third party alternatives then this is the only fix.
