Abercrombie & Finch: Racist? I was gonna buy some clothing from them until...

You are exercising the best way to protest. Congratulations.
Edit: There is no sarcasm meant in this post.

yea A+F is weak, dont they make their clothes in the mariana islands too? which are us territories meaning they get none of our american rights, and they make their clothing very very cheaply (and unfairly to the people)

I have two pairs of jeans from A&F that were made in the USA. Levis jeans, on the other hand, are made offshores.

For those A&F lovers, want to buy my old clothing? I'll wash them until they start fading. 😛

BTW, A&F hires primarily good-looking Caucasians as a business strategy. Is it wrong? In this society, yes. Does it raise profit? Yes, as labor is labor (cost-wise) and when you can have a Mercedes instead of a Pinto for the same price, why not? It makes perfect sense to me.

A&F isn't racist. If they didnt allow one ethnic group to buy their clothes, that would be racist. They don't, so stfu.

Do you see anyone complaining that the employee's at FUBU or Sean John clothing stores are all minorities? Or that both those clothes companys market their clothes towards minorities, excluding whites?

It's a market strategy. Even if there were some nazi at the helm of A&F, it's a business before anything else - and money rules. The company reacts to what society wants, because thats what makes it the most money. Not the other way around.

So, kindly stfu with all this "OMG I SAW ON 60 MINUTS THAT THEY IS BAD PEOPLE OMGOGMO" sensationalistic, melodramatic, bullsh!t. 😉

Well it came from the ultra-hyper-sensitive (not to mention politically radical) student protest groups at Berkeley, Stanford, and UC Santa Barbara, so it must accurately reflect the views of mainstream Americans. Its just gotta.

I'm not saying they are or they arent. I am saying he has every right to not spend his money there and believe they are racist. Instead, you come in and offer no valid argument with your first post except a

. Nothing to back it up. I have never shopped there, I never will. But don't go crapping on someone because they are inclined to believe something different from yourself. If he stopped shopping at all the FUBU shops and Sean John stores, would that make you happy?

Yes, don't buy from them because they might be racist, but support the companies that employ 6 year olds working 16 hours a day making $0.05 in 3rd world countries.

It kind of makes me feel uncomfortable because they chose that specific business strategy..

Today, when i walked into Santa Ana Mainplace Mall's Abercrombie and Finch, i felt really uncomfortable because of their poorly chose business stategy (imo). It almost felt sinful and shameful to walk into their store. I was hesitant and just walked in, looked around, and walked back out to my comfort zone, the crowd.

I haven't felt like this ever since I was in high school and I don't really like the feeling of being uncomfortable.

I'll say hello of American Eagle and Banana now!

Goodbye A&F.

Sure, he has a right to spend his money where he likes. But if he starts spewing his hypocritical belief onto other people, he should expect something equally as belligerent in response.

Cool man. Give your business to the guys working 9 year olds 16 hours a day.

EVERY business has a market niche. Take business 101 and you'll realize that. A&F has simply found that they make the most money with a certain image. Just like Sean John, FUBU, etc.

Please highlight where he was spewing his hypocritical beliefs onto people.

i found out they were racist and had hiring practices favored caucasians.

I really wanted to change my wardrobe to this brand, but i'm gonna stick w/ A&E, Banana Republic and Express.

Gee, i wonder why he doesnt want to buy FUBU? Or Sean John? ECKO maybe? Aren't those clothes good enough? Or wait - maybe they're not your style, right? And why aren't they his style... because he's likely white, and every other white person he knows doesnt wear clothes from any of those retailers.

Let's not forget that in his haste to hate A&F, he's suddenly running into the open arms of places like Express and Banana Republic, both places which have been highlighted for human rights abuses concerning child labor. But of course, he doesnt care about that yet, because it hasnt made any of the fluffy, touchy-feely news broadcasts yet.

I'm actually Asian.

I'm just trying to change my wardrobe because I've grown out of Quiksilver, Billabong, Ecko, Adidas, etc.

I just wanna dress up a bit more like a college student.

i could careless about their hiring practices. use the whores and prostitutes to sell .. sex sells.

everyone knows clothes and items are marketed towards a certain age and ethnicity. im all for that. it sells their clothes and puts money from the consumer's pocket into the pockets of the companies.

i care about the racist shirts AF put out. some of the shirts were extremely racist. The first article in the OP talks about the shirts.
