I usually don't watch this, although tonight I noticed it and thought to myself... 'Self, a world news program at 2am, offering world news, NOW. How could you not watch this on a regular basis??'
10 minutes later I realized that the name of the program is a terrible lie. First my ears where treated to the anchors singing along to a Tina Turner song, then my eyes were assaulted with a montage of the male anchor dancing, prancing, getting in a snowball fight, bouncing a little too excitedly on santa's lap and generally doing everything but anything vaguely news related.
After 2 commercial breaks interrupted by a few more short snippets of frivolity they presented us with a montage of the anchor reporting some notable stories over the last few years... And then a commercial break.
I had been watching ABC World News NOW for almost half an hour and had yet to hear any news, except that evidently the anchor Rob Nelson is leaving the show.
Eventually they started reporting news, although most of it seemed to be national.
Oh well.
