Very interesting article about the Tunnels.....

http://news.yahoo.com/abc-goes-inside-gaza-israeli-armored-unit-170646935--abc-news-topstories.html

“The Cruel Lady” rolled along.

That’s the nickname the Israeli soldiers use to describe their armored personnel carrier, or APC – it’s basically an oven on wheels. ABC News traveled into Gaza on an APC with troops from the Israeli Defense Forces’ 188 Armored Brigade today, witnessing a rarely-seen side of Israel’s conflict with Hamas, now in its third week.

The soldiers in “The Cruel Lady” were accompanied by two tanks, all under the command of Col. Tomer Ifrah.

Ifrah says he’s proud of the work he and his troops are doing.

The mounting civilian casualties in Gaza, especially the children, affect him, he said.

"I see my own kids," he said. "A child is a child is a child. We do everything we can to avoid hurting innocents. It is the first thing we brief every day. But sometimes, it happens."

The squad was commanded by Barak Lanes, 29, a veteran of Operation Cast Lead. Lanes said he was scared to go into Gaza today. He has a 1-year-old boy at home, and Lanes hopes his son never has to enter the army.

The unit traveled from Kissufim Crossing, where incoming mortar fire sent us scrambling for shelter. The unit's destination today was a newly-discovered tunnel on the outskirts of Gaza City.

On the way, we stopped. One of the tanks had spotted what they feared was a Hamas militant team with an anti-tank missile. The tank took cover. Ifrah assessed the situation. A school housing refuges was located nearby – too close to engage the threat, Ifrah decided – so another route was taken.

The tunnel the soldiers visited was uncovered the day before when an armored vehicle sank into the sandy ground under what were once greenhouses, but now were sandy ruins. The IDF dug it out this morning.

The tunnel stretched into darkness, sided in concrete and narrow.

Two Israeli soldiers stood with their guns pointed down the shaft, scanning for potential threats. Hamas militants have been using the tunnels for sneak attacks, a main focus for the Israeli forces.

The soldiers decided against entering the tunnel – booby-traps are always a possibility. The Israelis believe there may be other entrances, too.

Entrances to the tunnel had already been found at a nearby house. But at the moment, that location was too difficult to reach.

As the soldiers stood at the tunnel’s entrance, sniper fire peppered down. The Israelis countered with suppressing fire and a smokescreen. We hustled back to our vehicles, and back to Israel.

Shocked that the Israeli army had the perfect platoon for ABC to roll their film with.

Imagine that. Soldiers being happy that they hit what they were aiming for. What scum.

They were not soldiers. They were "a group of whooping Israelis watching missile strikes" and that group "'threatened to destroy' the reporter's car if she dared to say anything negative about Israel.

OMG! That reporter showed some video of the kidnap/murder tunnels to the world and now the world can see that the Palestinians are not harmless, innocent people.

You need to try much very more hard!

Why don't you post a real response instead of nonsensical comments? I know you think you're brilliant, but you're really just revealing yourself to be a moron.

Your logical fallacies poster is so danged cute by the way. Add this to the list--posting an image of a logical fallacies poster in an attempt to point out that someone is allegedly committing a logical fallacy while failing to explain the nature of the fallacy.

There's no reason not to be pro-Jew. The Jews (who are predominantly secular) stand for reason, science and technology, and Western Civilization. In contrast, the Palestinians and their Muslim religion stand for religious mysticism, religious intolerance, political dictatorship, and the subjugation of women.

Those Israelis watching rockets fly towards their targets. They enjoyed it as if it was a movie or videogame. I wonder, if these enlightened Jews (as you claim them to be), were seeing the rockets blow up and saw what the sharpnels were doing to babies and toddlers and women. Do you think these enlightened Jews would still cheer?

Seig heil!

Bigoted supremacism for the win.

Whatever rocks your boat to further and help justify Israel state policy and action of lebensraum, ethnic cleansing, annexation, of territory, apartheid laws against the occupied people, the seige and ghettoization of Gaza, or even to public calls for genocide.

With all rational predictability, all the above instigate and sponsor criminal extremism such as the militant wing of Hamas. As long as the above continues the likes of Hamas will never disappear as willing and vengeful youth will continue to grow up in a climate for revenge.

This is a clear strategic goal of Israel to maintain an actively violent opposition to divide Palestinian politics and make it easier to continue the Greater Israel policy of thr horrible pogrom of lebensraum with the annexation of land to the east and ethnic based supremacism for the state favoured colonist.

Not difficult to see. Hardly a conspiracy. An active, unjust, and immoral fact on the ground.

Hamas serves Israel's growth strategies. As Greater Israel, Hamas requires strife. Every few years, Israel initiates disproportionate and practically ineffective warfare to reinstate breeding environments for Hamas.

Of course not. Why would they?

The other question you have to ask is: Why would Hamas fire thousands of rockets and construct kidnap/murder tunnels if they wanted to keep Palestinians from being subject to defensive airstrikes and military action? Why store weapons in schools, hospitals, and residential areas? Why use people as human shields?

Perhaps the Palestinian people should rise up and exterminate the Hamas units that are terrorizing them. Why haven't they done that (instead of electing them)?

Well holy shit I suppose Israelis must not have any religious mysticism, religious intolerance, political intolerance, subjugation of women, or ethnical discrimination?

But it's true. It doesn't have to be that way. The Muslim world could choose to be different if it wanted to. However, they have chosen irrationality and extreme religious mysticism. It's their choice.

Not as the predominant culture, no. Of course there are going to be pockets of religious zealots where that will apply, just like with modern-day Christians.

That does not seem to be what is occurring in Israeli culture under Netanyahu.

Why? Because that was the last election held in Gaza, idiot. After that, Israel and the PA tried to stage a coup against an elected Gaza. They kicked Hamas out of the West Bank and Hamas kicked the PA out of Gaza. Since then there have been no more Palestinian elections. But I'm sure you already knew that. Not!!!

So you're using that as an argument for why the Jews would cheer the deaths of Palestinian civilians?

Hamas was a known terrorist organization long before the election. Hamas wasn't some peaceful political group that became genocidal after they were elected, idiot.

When a group of people elect a terrorist organization, they may as well be declaring war.

Because they are being oppressed and that is the only way they can push back? People like you sure seem to lap up propaganda, wonder why.
