Given what it took to make the folks in that apartment dead (and even then, one blew herself up), I'm inspired to make a new movie, "Children of Rasputin".

Are they going to bury him in his home country Syria?

I mean, sure he was born in Belgium. And is a BELGIAN, traced back to Morocco. But, this was all clearly a result of Syrian refugees - and he was clearly a Syrian refugee, who is from Syrian.

Oh, Syrian refugees.... BOO!!!

Congrats to the French police.

Nonetheless, anyone that thinks that playing whack a mole is an effective strategy is deluding themselves...

You do realize that there was a refugee that took part. And the concern that many have is that ISIS has stated that they plan to infiltrate the refugees. But please continue to show us how obtuse you are.

Back on topic: Good on France! Wtg!

Wow, ONE refugee was at multiple places in Paris and killed nearly 200 people? All by himself?! Is he some sort of Super-Mooslim??

Sadly, there's no easy solution to ISIS or the whole conflict in the ME for that matter. A non-trivial number of Muslims (not gonna quibble over that number) believe that it's their duty to subjugate or eliminate the infidel. The west in general gives them a convenient target as our culture is rife with things they claim to hate. Not saying that out of hate, fear, xenophobia, etc., just paraphrasing their own words. And aside from us, the Muslim religion has internal strife - Sunni vs Shia; a conflict that started soon after Mohamed's death.

I certainly don't want to go crazy and persecute / kill all Muslims. I don't want our society to devolve into a crazed bunch of paranoid sheep, surrendering our freedoms for the illusion of safety. I think the idea that some have that if we love them and leave them alone, they'll come to love us in return is abjectly stupid. I doubt that any meaningful negotiation with them would accomplish any long-term positive result.

So, a serious, well-intended question. What would you propose we do?

See? This is why no one on here takes you seriously. That's not even remotely what I implied. You only proved my comment about you.

Learn not to judge all people by the actions of a few?

I wholeheartedly agree and already do that. And, though it's purely anecdotal, the vast majority of the 'righties' that I know believe the same.

The problem still remains though. What do we do with the few that are stirring up the trouble: ISIS, AQ, Taliban, etc?

Heard about the raid on the news this morning. Apparently when the cops busted in they asked the girl where her boyfriend was and she responded "he's NOT my boyfriend".

That literally made me laugh out loud for some reason.

I neither like you nor dislike you. I have no ill will towards anyone on this board. And I merely disagree with you and think you're being deliberately obtuse in many cases; it has nothing to do with approval. But you point out another issue that I have with many libs. That being the stance that if someone disagrees with a lib position, it's being done out of dislike / hate. Also, the inability to differentiate the proper meanings of approval or acceptance and that disagreement does not imply disapproval or non-acceptance.

I sincerely hope you have a lovely rest of your day, my obtuse young man. :)

Oh no.

FerrelGeek does not approve of me.

FerrelGeek does not like me.

Oh, man.

A wide stroke opinion on a group of people is not cute when I do it. Understood.

Despite the grim reality of the situation...that is hilarious.

And then afterwards it is so terribly sad to realize we are dealing with people who are essentially murderous children.

Oy!

It is sad. Whoever is indoctrinating/training these people are the ones who need to be eliminated. Otherwise there are thousands of more kids where they came from.

Holy crap, they fired over 5,000 rounds in the raid! That's a little over 166 30 round mags, did they bring a minigun or something?

I see only one victim in the assault on the apartment.

Abaaoud got the result he wanted.
His female cousin got the result she wanted.
The police go to help Abaaoud on his way to Paradise with minor red badges of courage.

The only unfortunate was the police dog. Repose en paix courageux chien

This is indeed one of the core problems and one of the big reasons why there is no great solution. Kids are being indoctrinated from early childhood to hate the infidel and that the only way to guarantee paradise is to die for their faith.
