Guys,

I'm in the final stages of setting up an ASRock B550 Phantom Gaming 4 system. I've attached two photos that center on some confusion I'm having. One photo is a shot of the corner of the board, where the System Panel Header (item #19, p. 1 in the manual) resides, the other is a close up, better showing the connections. Here's where my confusion sets in.

The case is a Fractal Design Focus G. The wires in the bundle include: Power switch (two wires), Reset switch (two wires), PLED +/- wires, HDD +/- wires. I've placed those wires on the B550 System Panel Header. Next to the System Panel Header is a Power LED & Speaker header (item #20 on p.1 of the manual. Why are there what appear to be redundant headers on the motherboard (PLED +/-)? Additionally, there appears to be an extra PLED+ header on item #20. And, no speaker wire in sight.

Am I missing something, or should all the wires from the case reside on the System Panel Header? Do case speakers still exist, or do they reside on the motherboard?

TIA,

The answer is simple and goes back a few years.

Some cases have a 3 pin power led connector. The speaker one is obvious.
