I am trying to record from vcr with my ati tv wonder usb. I have recorded several small clips without any problems. I have one I want to record that is about 15 minutes. I tried it once and before the clip was finished it stoped recording and the save as box appeared. Then I remembered that fat 32 could only record 4 gig and figured it to be the cause.

So I installed my newly acquired 60 gig drive and formated it to NTFS. I configured the ati software to use the new drive and try again. This time it records til I click to stop then the dialog that should ask me for a file name doesn't appear. Windows explorer shows the temp file while recording but when I click to stop the temp file disappears. Its like I never recorded anything. I tried several small clips to this drive and works without a hitch.

Is there a file size limit to ntfs? What the heck am I doing wrong?:(

I hope someone can offer some help. Thanks in advance.

I can't help you with your problem, sounds like a weird one.

Check out vcdhelp.com for tons of info on video capture and software.

Thanks tj I downloaded the virtural dub looks great but I can't get any sound. The ATI usb wasn't on their list. I guess I am SOL.:)

Does anyone know of software that will support this thing? This ATI software has a lot to be desired.

Check out this thread: started by tungfree it's fantastic with so much info I had to print it out and put it in a binder. :)

Would virtualdub let you capture video with no sound? Or were you trying to convert an avi to mpeg?

Yea I used it to capture a small file to see if it would work and it did. No audio though.

I am trying to capture video that is probobly close to 5gig worth of video. The ati stuff works but when the file gets over 4gig I guess it gets lost.

I am reading that link now looks like good info. Thanks
