AaronP's Political Ideology (NOT in order of importance), if I missed an issue, tell me and I will comment on it!

1. Gun Control - Anybody ever comes to my house and tells me that I can't have my semi-automatic pistol or rifle had better be wearing a flak jacket. I believe that as long as someone is a law abiding citizen, that person has the right to bear arms. I believe that the current laws are MORE THAN ENOUGH to keep guns out of the hands of criminals. IF THEY ARE ENFORCED!

2. Abortion - I believe abortion is morally wrong. I have no religious ideology behind my view, I simply beleive that unborn babies are innocent life, and they should have rights too. The whole "woman's body" crap that the feminists try to push is a corrupt philosohpy. A society is ultimatly judged by how it treats those who can't defend themselves. I think that in 100 or 1000 years, we will be looked back on as savages for allowing abortions to happen.

3. The Environment - I believe global warming is happening, however I do not think it is man's doing. If you look at a graph of the last thousands of years of the earth's climate, our planet's temperature has natural flucttuations. The Kyoto Treaty is the biggest load of crap ever. The HUNDREDS OF BILLIONS of dollars that it would cost the US economy for a VERY MARGINAL, insignificant decrease in the warming trend that may not even happen is what I call a BAD INVESTMENT. And hey, the earth's ice caps are actually getting COLDER, its not like the oceans will rise and Denver Colorado will become the last city in the USA! HAHA

4. OIL - I would like to see a large goverment investment (probably in the form of tax breaks) for research, and real progress towards alternative fuels. We need to make the transition eventually, and it's better to start early and take our time building a new infrastructure. I for one do NOT like to be beholden to corrupt middle eastern countries for oil. As for ANWAR, I say drill away! In the Prudhoe Bay oil fields, the Caribu flourish, and modern oil facilities would NOT harm the envirment in that area. It's not like its a great area anyways, its a fricken tundra. AND, the area that they are want to drill is NO BIGGER THAN DULLES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT!

5. Terrorism - I say cut out the crap! We need to take a much harder stance with countries that say one thing and do another (Saudi Arabia). And I beleive Bush was correct in his Axis of Evil statement. Iran is controleld by Mullahs and Clerics would love to see us all die. And North Korea! ever wonder why there is never any cameras or video footage brought back from there? From what little I have seen that has been smuggled out, North Korea is like one huge NAZI concentration camp. The people are in such horrible shape there. Famine, a totalitarian regime. If that's not evil, I don't know what is. And I won't even get started on Saddam.

6. Drugs, Tobacco, and Alcohol - I say legalize pot and tax the hell out of it. Also increase the tax on cigs. I think just about all states have a drinking age of 21, I think it should remain there. Also, legalizing pot should give politicians to go even more hardcore on the hard stuff, crack, cocaine, heroin. I say, keep dumping pesticides all over Columbia till the whole country is Arid, or they do something real to stop their drug trade.

7. Immigration - in england, a law was just passed, all legal immigrants must be able to speak english, I think that should come over here too. Also, I realize there is a need for mexican workers to do the dirty jobs that Americans seem too snooty to want to do know. We need to establish some sort of system to allow them to work here, pay taxes, and work towards citizenship. However, it needs to be tightly regulated. The American southwest is in a cultural war of its own right now, with such a large percent of mexicans living there, and taking advantage of America, while their hearts, minds, and ultimate loyalty still belongs to Mexico. I say, if you come here to work, you'd better get over your beloved Mehico! I think the National Guard should be deployed along the border, and Pat Buchanon's big wall idea wasn't that far fetched.

8. European relations - we can just put up with their sh*t, its all a lot of meaningless posturing, deep down, they all know that the USA is what makes the world go around right now, and they actually take comfort in the fact that big uncle USA is always there to defend em if they need our help. All the stuff we read about liberal Europeans dissing us and talking trash is just a huge case of penis envy.

9. Religion - practice whatever you want, I have no problem with missionary work and preaching, but PLEASE respect other wishes if they don't want to hear it.

10. Health Care - sure, in some sort of Utopian world where everything was efficient, there was no embezzling, some world where Gene Roddenberry could have orgasms all day, government health care would be nice, however in reality, it is just too damn inneficient. I was watching the British House of Commons debate their goverment health care system the other day on CSPAN and it sounded like a nightmare, people being refused treatments, 35 day hospital stays for something that should be overnight, and many other problems. Canada has many similar problems. In the US, NO-ONE will be denied emergency treatment, and frankly, just about anyone who has a full time job can get health care for their entire family for ~50 dollars a month. And despite all the horror stories about HMO's, in reality, they provide a TON of service for a very low cost. I for one defend HMO's.

11. Other stuff : I believe that all interstate Higways (4 lanes or more) should have variable speed limit, 80 MPH during the day, 70 MPH at night. I believe that Mars exploration should become a priorty in the US. The LEAN Mars plan that Dr. Zubrin promotes should be the way the US goes.

I have to pee now, and want to watch Star Trek TNG, so thats's all. I look forward to your replies!

AaronP- I only disagree with you on one point and maybe on another.
1. Abortion-- I support a womans right to choose only because I would rather see an abortion than an unwanted baby brought into this world only to end up neglected or worse. I do have kids of my own if that makes any difference.
2. I have not made up my mind about legalizing pot. I simply don't think I have enough facts to form an intelligent opinion. Remember I am on active duty and we have an almost 0 tolerance policy. Junior personnel may get a second chance if they "pop positive" but more senior personnel (like myself) would get tossed out on their ass. The rules are clear,so I don't feel sorry for anyone that does and I fully support the policy. I do also see the side of "it's no worse than alcohol or cigs". Research in progress.

It is sad that babies are neglected and have bad upbringings, but I beleive even they deserve a chance. A lot of successful people come from bad upbringings. If given a choice of living in an orphanage or having a single, crack addict mother, but still having a chance to rise up above by upbringing and contribute to society, or to be KILLED! I choose life. Sure, statistically, many of those children will never be successful in life, but they still deserve a chance, I believe.

<< I would rather see an abortion than an unwanted baby brought into this world only to end up neglected or worse. >>

So you would kill a hundred to prevent one 'unwanted' baby?

We have enough vices...pot....maybe.

We already tax the hell out of cigs and all it does is to give Politicians more money to influence the rest of your Idealogies.

Other than those points, I agree completely.

You're either a Libertarian with an extremely wide conservative streak, or (more probably) a conservative that just hasn't quite come around to the entire Libertarian platform (yet). Either way, congratulations, you're getting there :D

A little more detail, there are some things in the republican party that I don't really like, the religious faction, the mostly pro tobacco stance, and a few other small things, however, on just about everything else, I side with the elephant, and I am not a one issue person, I would rather vote for a party that agrees with me on 9 out of 10 issues than anything else.

BTW, the current campaign finance reform push is a CROCK! Have you heard about the restrictions it puts on issue ads? If that isn't stifling free speech, I don't know what is!

I would kill no one and I resent the implication. I simply stated I support the womans right to choose. And unless you're full time job is the prevention of abortions you are just as complicit in these "killings" as I am. This is an extremely polarizing issue and it will be my last post on the subject.

AaronP -- << I have to pee now... >>

Why didn't you do that while you were taking this dump all over the forum? You should support research on your affliction, anal-cranial inversion. :Q

AaronP, Just out of curiosity, what was the purpose of posting your political ideologies?

Wouldn't, say, your diary be a better place to write something like this? Or are you just hoping someone will start a flame war about something you said?

I was wondering how long it would be before the "free speech is great as long as I agree with it" crowd would ooze in and barf all over.

Another vote for "I agree with you on all but one point".

Abortion, but I'm not starting any arguments, so I'll leave it at that. :)

I checked your poll on this, and you're a lying POS. So far, there is not one vote in favor of me leaving the forum. :p

AaronP,

I'm not a conservative person but I've carefully your Political Ideology...

Anyway I know that I'm going to get a lot of flak (got the rtcw flak coat on) but I'm going to place my comments on your political ideology:

I've carefully comented every point that u made so I didn't leave anything out

1. Gun Control - Coming from a country like yours I accept that u think that way, but I don't agree with you on that one!

2. Abortion - I believe that the law we have here in Portugal (legal abortion until 16 weeks for raped and / or abused women) its probably the way to go, although I still think that a teenager younger than 16 could have a legal abortion in any Public Hospital where she would have proper care.

3. The Environment - sorry but I disagree with you on this one. Yes Global Warming is happening, and yes all the countries, especially the US, must comply with the Kyoto treaty. I know it will cost billions but probably our great-great-great-grandsons would be happy that we took this stance on environment policy.

4. OIL - I agree with you, probably the best way to fund the research is adding a 'Green Tax' to Petroleum related products. I've seen a few results here in Portugal with Hydrogen based Buses, so I think that it is the best way forward.

5. Terrorism - Agree with you on every point, but just add to the list the former heads of CIA and KGB that funded/trained/aided some of these Terrorists during the Cold War.

6. Drugs, Tobacco, and Alcohol - I agree with you in 10 / 10.

7. Immigration - I agree with you in 10 / 10. We're having a similar problem here in Portugal with immigrants from the former Warsaw Pact countries (Ukraine, Moldova, Estonia, Russia, etc.) and the majority of them can't speak a single word of portuguese. But I won't suggest to my government to put up a wall to stop the immigrants from comming.

8. European relations - nope u did really miss all the points in your presentation... If the US really made the world go round the Sun would only shine in the United States and all the other countries in the world would be kept in the dark... Sometimes is better to point some fingers to the foreign policy of the soul remaining 'SuperPower' so that the policy doesn't harm regional/global stability than giving a 'laisser faire laisser passer' policy. As for defending us, I've got a very different opinion on that subject since I don't believe that any conflict should be resolved using violence.

9. Religion - I agree with you in 10 / 10.

10. Health Care - I think that the Health Care service should be provided by the government in a free for all access, because I don't think that a company that has profits in mind (the Private Health Care companies) can truly decide if a person can or can't be treated for his/her diseases. Check the numbers of the people in your country that don't have access to any health care service because they simply can't afford it.

nagger, thanks for the thoughtful reply. I gotta admit, I did a double take when I saw your name, lets say I got a vowel mixed up.

Read this article on global warming and kyoto and tell me what you think:

Same here, but I'll bite the bullet...

I believe in abortion. That is, abortion of the individuals who are too irresponsible to abstain from sex when they aren't willing to have a child.

on number 7, you'll have a hard time getting that one done, especially since we don't have an official language. and if you think you'll breed loyalty by making them learn a new language, i think you're mistaken.

LOL. Good one. Hey Russ do you write a political column anywhere? If not you should.

Here's my new campaign platform: I'm for homes for the homeless, jobs for the jobless and neverthe for the nevertheless.
