Aarghhh: Fantasy Football with 11 teams

Well, I have been chosen commish for our fantasy football league this year, and due to a suicide (seriously), we are down to 11 teams instead of our usual 12. I have been trying to put together a season for 11 players, and my brain is about to explode. The sad thing is I am pretty good at math and numbers, but for the life of me, I cannot figure this out.

It's not necessary for everyone to play each other an equal amount of times, but it needs to be as close as possible. We'd like to have 12 to 14 weeks of play before 3 weeks of playoffs.

After frustration, I had searched the intarweb for template schedules and found nothing for 11 teams. So the geniuses at ATOT are my only hope. Can anyone help?

have the 12th team be a bye team. Set a score the team playing the bye has to score in order to win. That's what we did one year.

That was a thought, but the problem was not everyone has an equal amount of times playing ghost team 12.

We tried, but couldn't do so before our draft. It's hard enough setting a date/time for the draft. We had 2 guys in PHX, and 1 in CHI doing the draft over the net, and 1 guy on CIN doing it over the phone. The rest of us were at a friend's house.

we have guys in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Arizona. We got it to work with 10 of us. You just have to set a date far enough ahead of time, and say, "that's the date. be there or else".

so did the guy that killed himself do so before or after the draft? if he has a team, try to find someoen to take it over.. if not, why can't you do the ghost team, but just do it for 11 weeks.. each team plays the ghost once, and then after that you start the playoffs with the last 5 weeks of the season..

No, this happened months ago. Only 11 teams drafted.

The 11 weeks regular season is an option, we'd like to play more than that though.

Maybe the teams that don't get scheduled against the bye, just add the bye to their weeks so they've played an equal number of games? So like if team A plays team B this week, and team A hasn't played the bye yet (and won't in a regular schedule) then team A can play team B and the bye in the same week.

Confusing, but do you follow? That's an option.

Interesting. But I think I'll go with the 11-week season over that.
