So back in November, when my ex coughed up $1K in back child support, I suspected she might be coming back for a visit... Nov thread WRONG

She & hubby have moved to the states from the UK, this week, ~100 miles away.

She hasn't seen our daughter in 3 freaking years:| Moved back because her looser husband couldn't find a job in the UK & she was working for slightly more than minimum wage.

This is going to be a painful couple of years (only 3.5 years till child is 18)

She's the one who has to travel the hundred miles for visits, right? Does your daughter know she's back? Don't tell her!

I truly hate parents who abandon their children. If necessary, go to court and make sure she only gets supervised visitations, if any at all. I would say to kill the bitch but then you would go to prison and it isn't worth it.

Can you tell I'm on your side? :D

No, she owed $1k over the last year or so, I suspect the $ came from the sale of their house in the UK, their only asset. She only pays $250/month.

She's supposed to give the courts & myself 30 days notice before changing jobs or moving. She just gave -7.

Catching any clues to why she's such a pain in the ass?

Her citizenship must be all fvcked up too, prob the other reason she didn't say anything.

Hmmm, in John Ashcroft's Amerika this has unkind possibilities.

Yep, but that puts me in the crappy position of raising hell with my daughter's mom.

Yes, you have to think about what's best for your daughter, not about what you'd enjoy most. But if mom and her hubby get to be too much of a bad influence it might be worth considering as an alternative to the shovel and car trunk.

I'm on board already, She had to renounce her US citizenship I believe, and I'll bet she traveled here under a visitor's Visa.

Hang in there Moose.

My ex stood up my son this weekend, she was supposed to pick him up Friday for the weekend. This after she called yesterday and told him on the phone "I will be by to pick you up Sunday.". He was so excited about seeing her.

You don't know pissed off until you've seen your childs heart broken like this. Not the first time either, so you think he'd almost be used to it by now.

Child support is a joke. I actually reduced her payment amount by more than %50, to a number she could "work with" when she whined that the original amount was too much. I'm not trying to see my sons mother go to jail if she physically can't afford to pay. But when she doesn't pay period, and even calls me and talks about her trips to the tanning bed................maybe jail and a small dose of reality is what she needs.

Sorry Moose, didn't mean to hijack your thread by going off on a tanjent here.

Visitations should be pretty easy to control since she is here under a tourist visa under a foreign passport. The chances of international kidnapping are a possibility and the courts would be wary of granting her unsupervised visitation.

Yep, was hoping it was enough to keep her out of the states, she must be pretty desperate.

Will call the lawyer & INS tomorrow see what we can do.
