First I got my new chieftec full tower all ready to go for the new board and cpu. Got the board all mounted but I can't transfer all the stuff out of the old case until the cpu shows up...Problem is the cpu DIDN'T show up. Dababus sent it USPS priority on Monday, you'd think 4 days would be enough for it to get here. Apparently not, 2-3days average delivery time my ass. So doing the upgrade while I have a free afternoon is out now thanks to the postal service.
So next I call up my company contact for a job I'm supposed to be doing on Monday. Mind you this is one of those hand me down type deals. One company subcontracts out to another company for the job, who subcontracts out to the consulting service, which then finally subcontracts out to me. The top company is probably paying like $200 an hour and I get beans. Turns out the job is on Tuesday. Ok that's fine. So they give me a number to call. The guy (well call him #1) says I need a work order which I don't have. So I get the consulting service on the phone in a 3 way call. The consulting service turns it into a 4 way call by calling someone in their Texas office. So they finally figure out they need to send me the workorder. Finally I get that and call the guy #1 I was supposed to call back. Turns out I don't have the proper work order. So he transfers me to someone else who tells me I have to call someone else to get the proper workorder. So I do that and he emails me the proper workorder. You'd think all is well but I'm missing the bridge, survey, diagram forms, and shipper pickup information. So I call the guy #1 yet again to get all this information. Turns out they won't have that till Monday. On top of it all they didn't lock me in at the higher rate I'm supposed to get.
The difference is probably only $6 for the whole job but it's still slightly annoying.
Mind you I've dealt with most of these guys before on a previous project and they're pretty decent people to deal with, but this crap happened on the previous project too. So now I've wasted nearly 2 hours of my time without a cent to show for it.
So anyways now that I've ranted about my sucky afternoon, who wants the microphone next?
