Aaargh. Cannot flash K7DMaster-L to 1.82!!!

I had an MSI K7DMaster-L running with 2x MP1800+ fine for over a year with 1.3 BIOS. 2 weeks ago I bought 2 MP2600+ procs, and decided to upgrade BIOS to 1.82 before switching. The update went ok, and when the program asked to press F1 to reboot I did... and then nothing! Comp would not reboot/ Fans start to run, but no video (AGP nor PCI) nothing...

I was able to RMA the board, and got a new one... with 1.3 BIOS. Just tried to flash again... "press F1 to reboot"... and same thing AGAIN!!! Comp will not boot. I've build hundreds of comps, but this really gets me. Anybody with similar probs???


Pls Help if you have any ideas.

All parts have been tested in another comp, and are ok.

2x MP2600+ (tried flashing with the MP1800+)
2X Transcend reg. ECC DDR
2X Maxtor D740... 40Gig
1x DVD +-RW
MSI Ti4200 128Mb VIVO
MSI USB2 card

thats all...

 
it seem we need winflash(?) to make it work. i just kill my k7d last night.
i am in the process of trying to get new bios chip. head to 2cpu.com
they have more info.

Sorry to hear man. I called MSI though, and they told me to sent the mobo back to them... and DA-DAA,
2 weeks later I get a brand new replacement in retail box with all the goodies inside. And this replacement had the latest BIOS!

MSI rocks! :beer:😀
