aaargh!! Anyone know how to get VOB files to play in Powerpoint? I am all googled out!

this is for church, I am making small clips using dvdshrink and cannot get them to play in powerpoint. i can rename them to mpg and get media player to play them....unless there is an easier way...I am used TMPGENC plus to get the VOB file to mpeg but cannot get sound.

any one ?

no, it does not...i have tried and tried....i use dvd shrink to make the clip that i need and cannot get it to play in powerpoint....

is there an easier way

the vob file from dvd shrink has both sound and video, and can be played with bs player and windows media player

Maybe have a link from your pp slides to your movie?

Edit: I dont think pp itself will support video files, so I think regardless it'll have to open wmp to play it.

powrpoint plays many video files...just cannot get VOB to work.

I think that means that ur not converting the VOB correctly.
If you only need a particular scene, I suggest ripping the entire movie into a mpg or avi using TMPGENC.
Then, use TMPGENC again to cut the scene you want out.

Edit: after you rip the entire movie, check at that point if pp will play it. If not, then you know what the problem is.
 
I didn't know that PowerPoint played embedded VOBs. I think it would be easier for you to get tmpgenc and convert it to standard mpeg-2 or something and play that.
