Aaahhhh.......My cpu temps are so much lower now

I just finished installing my new watercooling kit in my case this morning/afternoon and finally got the guts to turn it on (always a scary prospect, even though you are positive it will work fine)

Dangerden Maze3
Arctic Silver3
5x7 radiator
120mm fan @ 7V
4"x4"x4" junction box from Home Depot
117 gph submersible pump from local pet store
1/2" I.D. PVC braided hose
3/8" I.D. PVC braided hose
Hose clamps, misc. connectors, etc.

I will be putting up a site very soon with a nice step-by-step of what I did to make it all fit and function together. I was running my 1800+ (1.53GHz) @ 1.67 GHz (145x11.5 - 1.7v) and idle temp was 55C w/ retail hsf

I have been running 3DMark2k3 and the system hasn't gotten about 37C yet. Time to play some Neverwinter Nights and see how the system likes that.

My case temps have gone up since installing the watercooling, but I removed 3 80mm fans out of my Antec SX830. Plus, I haven't finished running the power cord out of the case yet, so the side panel and side 80mm LED fan aren't installed yet either.

If anyone has any general questions regarding what I did to install it or if they want some pre-site pictures of the setup, just ask and emails will be sent.

I'm curious about the price tag on that setup. What about gpu and mobo chipset cooling, have you included those in your setup?

I don't think my setup will be a fair comparison of price ;)

Maze3 + radiator = Epson Stylus Photo 780 printer = cost me $10 (thought to be broken, empty ink cart. :D)
Reservoir - $8.93
Waterpump - $30
Hose/clamps/fittings = $16
Water additive - $3
O-Rings/bolts/nuts - $3

Total - $70.93

Hehehe.....gotta love bartering for some good deals. I traded the printer for the Maze3 and the radiator. I got the Water additive from the Bedroom Center 1/2 mile from my house, it is to prevent anything from growing in a waterbed...same idea to keep stuff from growing in my system. The hoses, fittings, and most of the hose clamps came from Tractor Supply Co. which is right near the Bedroom Center.

The bolts/nuts were a freebie (Jessie James style) from the local hardware store. The lady wasn't going to make me break a $20 for $.40 in stuff. The O-Rings are in between the bolt and the motherboard and then another set between the nut and the waterblock. They smush out really nice...help to absorb any off-set pressure. I tried to turn the nut equal amounts as I went cross-pattern tightening.

So....you can't touch my figures. But, it works awesome. I will be working on the site this week and maybe I can launch it by the end of the week.

This will be my first real article. I have the following on the table:

Asus A7N8X Deluxe (planning to do a once-over on it, nothing real in-depth seems there is 100 reviews out for it already)
Asus V9280TD GF4 Ti4200 128MB AGP 8x vid card (nice card for the price, good overclocks too - Got Ti4600 specs out of it 300/600)
Corsair TwinX PC3200 512MB memory
Logitech MX700 (have a few quirks with this mouse, should prove interesting to write-up)

All said and done, I have my first 5 reviews/overviews to write. Hopefully, they will get written up before the hardware becomes too obsolete. :)

Cool :)
So, you're still using fan cooling on your video card and northbridge chipset?

Yeah

Sorry to not address that in my response.

I plan on going to a GPU-waterblock in the future. The northbridge is already passively cooled, so no noise to eliminate. Plus, it already supports insane fsb settings (up to and beyond 200 MHz)

I am looking at the GF4 waterblock from Dangerden. It is setup with 45 degree fittings to allow my ramsinks to stay in place.

If I could find some watercooled ramsinks......now that would be a project. I do have a non-submersible waterpump coming and could use it for the video watercooling outside the cpu watercooling system.....hmmm

Cool- I'd like to see some watercooled video ramsinks! maybe some watercooled DIMM ramsinks while you're at it :)
Keep us posted on that one.

I knew my figure for the watercooling was a little too low ($30 too low :Q)

I forgot the waterpump in the price.

Hey..at least I didn't forget it in the system!

I thought I found some watercooled DIMMsinks once....can't remember where though....I will look around again.
