God damn it!!
why the hell can't the US use metric system like the rest of the world. I spend couple hours last night trying to source 6mm / 60mm bolt. Home depot has a half of isle filled with screws, none of them are metric and absolutely non of them translate to whole numbers. Jesus Christ

I have LOTS of 6mm bolts laying around at work. 5mm as well.

Edit: Go to a auto parts store or a bike shop and you will find metric bolts.

The Lowes I was in yesterday afternoon had bins full of metric bolts.

pretty much - the length should be around 6cm or so. It just needs to be a decently long 6mm dia screw. Are there any local places that carry them?

Find a True Value hardware store if any still exist in your area. Much wider selection of stuff like that then Home Depot.

Home Depot used to carry them, but I guess as they squeeze out the competition they feel they can consolidate their inventory.

Local places are horrible to find screws/bolts. Even screws/bolts in English measurements. I always use McMaster. Order by ~7 pm tonight and it'll be on your door step tomorrow morning with standard delivery (of course I don't know what the delivery charge is since I order through a business account).

Good luck. The best I can say is too look for Ace Hardware. Ace or any real HARDWARE store will have way more selection than any home improvement store (Menard's, Home Depot, Lowes are NOT hardware stores).

Agreed on both points. Home Depot is only useful for common stuff. Find your local HW store and give them some business. You'd be amazed what kind of stuff you'll find there.

homedepot is the worst for metric bolts and stuff.

Go to OSH, Lowes, ACE true value (my choice) or some local retail one. I usually go to ACE, a local place called Virgils and then OSH. In all three ones i usually find my stuff.
