While everyone else probably got hooked onto hardware 3d acceleration with GL Quake, I remember my first experience with real 3d was the Moto Racer game that came packaged with my STB Riva 128. The incredibly bright colors, the blazing speed... it absolutely floored me. The game single handedly convinced at least 3 other friends to also jump on the 3d bandwagon after they saw it. And to think it was done with Direct3D back when everyone was slamming it and praising OpenGL and Glide.
Anyways, I found my old copy of it while looking for stuff to try out on my new 21" Trinitron and loaded it up. Kinda funny, it demanded your desktop to be 16-bit color before it would start. Aaaah, the good old days.
Anyone else have a non-Quake first 3d accelerated experience?
