Sigh, I'm supposed to be singing with my school's choir right now...
On monday, I got a sore throat and a minor cold, and did what I could to make it better... well that didn't help at all and it just kept getting worse. Yesterday my cold got significantly worse at night and my voice started to go, and today I could barely speak. Great. Right on the day of the concert. My choir is singing right now and I feel too bad to even go out and watch them. I had a solo too... I sure hope I didn't screw everything up completely, maybe someone can cover my solo for me... hopefully... I just feel so bad for letting everyone down. =( Our director is probably going to kill me...

I feel for you. I was a senior in high school and missed our annual spring concert because of a bad bout with chicken pox.:frown:

Wow, I feel so sorry for you... good thing I had chicken pox at an early age so I don't have to deal with it later like you did... I know how significant the spring concert is, or at least I think I do, because it's like the "big thing" for the bands and choirs at our school.

I missed a lead role in a high-school play when I was in sixth grade because of the chicken pox. That sucked. The HS my mom worked at was doing The King and I and they needed a few younger students to play the children's roles; I got the part of Anna's son. Woke up the morning of opening night with what I thought was a bugbite, but the school nurse said it was chicken pox and sent me home:|

It went downhill from there too, believe it or not...the director, in his infinite wisdom (and a lack of applicants, I presume) picked one kid to act as a step-in for both the boy playing the prince and I. I got sick first, so he took my place, and the prince was forced to perform w/ a sore throat for the rest of the week. Turns out he was pretty sick too, if I remember correctly. A bad cold or strep or something. Kinda felt sorry for him when I found that out.

I just finished going through a severe viral throat infection. It was awful. I hope you get well soon.
