Aaah counter-strike problem

sorry but this was my last resource as I couldn't register at the CS forums for some reason.

problem: I've returned to CS a bit, and now my aliases dont work. in my autoexec.cfg I have stuff like this:

alias "1stround" "buy; menuselect 8; menuselect 1; buy; menuselect 7; wait; wait; slot10; wait; wait; slot10; wait; wait; slot10; wait; wait; slot10; wait; wait; slot10; wait; wait; slot10; wait; wait; slot10; wait; wait; slot10; wait; wait; slot10; wait; wait; slot10; wait; wait; slot10; wait; wait; slot10; wait; wait; slot10; wait; wait; slot10; wait; wait; slot10"

alias "shotgun2" "buy; menuselect 2; menuselect 2; buy; menuselect 6; buy; menuselect 8; menuselect 4; wait; wait; slot10; wait; wait; slot10; wait; wait; slot10; wait; wait; slot10; wait; wait; slot10; wait; wait; slot10; wait; wait; slot10; wait; wait; slot10; wait; wait; slot10; wait; wait; slot10; wait; wait; slot10; wait; wait; slot10; wait; wait; slot10; wait; wait; slot10; wait; wait; slot10"

bind F1 "1stround"
bind F2 "shotgun2"

but it doesn't work! I press F-buttons and nothing happens. am I doing something wrong? It worked a couple of months ago, only change is that I've upgraded to CS 1.0

Try putting quotes around the function keys, (i.e. bind "F1" "1stround&quot😉

switch it to the insert and delete keys or any of those in that section. that seems to work for my friend.

just get a new buy cfg

There are 100's there's even a website devoted to cs aliases

that's not the point...I can make my own alias, and was confused why it wasn't working now

ok I think the problem might be the binding to Function-keys...hm well I'll look into changing it....darn hl

Your quotes are in the wrong places. Alias names (when you define the alias) should NOT have quotes around them.


wrong:
alias "1stround" "buy; menuselect 8; menuselect..."
right:
alias 1stround "buy; menuselect 8; menuselect..."

And the key name DOES need quotes, and for binding the keys, all the commands (including any aliases) do go in quotes here.

wrong:
bind F1 "1stround"
right:
bind "F1" "1stround"

The quotes don't matter. My guess would be that you forgot to exec your CFG.
