I send my laptop in to Dell becuase I began to have screen distoritions. These vertical columns of distortion began showing up a month ago and it is totally apparent to me and everyone that I've shown it to. I receive my laptop back with a note stating that technical support did not seem to be able to find the distortion. What?
The columns are very apparent so this is a total shock to me, you can see for youself how much they stand out. *warning* these pics are hosted on geocites.

So I call Dell to see what was up, and the lady tells me that technical support did not find the distortions that I was talking about. I told her that they were postively noticeable and I would send in some pictures that I took with my digital camera so that the technical support people can see it for themselves. She then starts to say "Wait, so when you turn on your computer is your digital camera connected to the laptop?" WTF? I said no and that my camera has absolutely nothing to do with the screen distortions. She then asks me if they show up when I use a certain photo editing program, blah blah blah. This was after I said that the distortions show up when I go to the BIOS screen! I'm really annoyed at this point and after a pause she says "Oh if the columns show up in the BIOS then it's definitely a hardware problem." Thank you very much for clarifying that for me! Anyways she said that she has put in a request to replace the motherboard for me and any connectors between the screen and the mobo. Now I have to send my laptop in AGAIN! The first time I waited for 3 hours for Airborne Express just to pick up my laptop, now I have to do this all over again! I won't have my laptop for another 2 weeks! This totally hinders my ability to take work home, this mistake is effecting me at my job! Sorry for the rant but....as you can tell I'm P.O.'d.
