I installed my Epox KHA+, Athlon XP 1800+, and new Maxtor D740X 20Gb 7200Rpm ATA133 HDD - Everything running flawlessly. Im tempted to do some FSB overclocking but I don't know when the right dividers (1/5, 1/6) kick in and I really don't want to blow up anything just yet. I can definetly see the difference between my old system ( 1Ghz Tbird @ 1.33, ECS K7S5A, POS Samsung 5400RPM HDD)
So I guess I should just leave it alone for now. SiSoft Sandra benchies were amusing - crushed the 1.6ghz P4. 😀 But my Mem benchies weren't all that great 🙁 I have 384MB of Crucial PC2100DDR CL2.5 Hmmm.... I guess I could turn up the Memory performance up in the BIOS from Normal to Fast.

Just thought I'd share my success with you all. 😉

Nice system Kdog....I am interested in the New ATA133 Maxtor Hd's is that one of the new "L" series that had Fluid bearings?

why in the world would you want to overclock that system its really not worth the little gain of performance that you'll recieve!

Every single extra CPU cycle is GREAT when going towards SETI@Home. And - we are doing it because we CAN 😀

Pretty sweet I just got all the parts for my system as well. Epox 8KHA+ as well as an XP 1800+. The 1/5 divider seems right if you can manage to get the FSB up to 166 though I dont see any problem running your fsb @ 150Mhz and using the 1/4 divider. Thats 37.5MHz pci bus speed. I have mine currently running at 37.0 Mhz so you really should not have a problem. Besides you could squeeze a bit of extra performance with PCI bus overclocking 😀

I hope to get my XP 1800 up to 166 Mhz ( I doubt it though). Bought a nice Alpha 8045 with a 40cfm fan. I might just buy that delta screamer with the voltage adjuster so I can tone the noise down a bit 🙂

I doubt it would make a difference though as I plan on moving my scsi back into my main rig which should really raise the temperature a good bit.
