Well,i just trashed my sennheiser headphones today. They have endured about 2 years of getting hung up on my desktop chair in every fashion imaginable before they finally got snagged bad today and ripped off my head rudely as i stood up and smashed to the floor.:banghead:
p.s.-good job sennheiser on making a low cost set that held out so long from so much abuse.

I have been doing searches here, and find no answer to my satisfaction.I very much want, almost pleadingly lol,one set of preferrably bluetooth headphones that will do this list of things and in this order of importance to me.

>ability to switch from pc mode to a tv output mode easily
>decent gaming sound, enough for some directional perception
>decent music playback with volume that does not cause bad distortion:yuck:
>at least some degree of outside sound muffle/shielding
>comfort,no earpiece types

I am truly indebted for some possibilities presented, thanks.

I don't know about your first condition, but the only bluetooth I have seen is the Etymotic Research ETY8. Otherwise, Sennheiser makes wireless head cans.

Thanks. While i think highly from experiences with sennheiser,in this case i will pass their products by.I'm sorry, but thier bluetooth offering made me laugh some.I don't wanna look like that while wearing them,LOl!Their other units look nice but won't off the mixed useage i would like.

Oh,and i was wondering how a bluetooth unit will work with 2.4gz wireless router setup in the same area?

I am presently looking at some logitech, plantronices, creative, and samsung options.Aaargh.

Frankly, any wireless device is going to accept interference from other wireless devices in the area. I do not dabble with wireless headphones as they just do not come in a package that offers excellent sound quality.

You can get comfort, outside noise attenuation, excellent music playback w/o distortion, excellent gaming sound easily from good headphones. An example is the denon 1001 for ~85$. These headphones would easily surpass any wireless headphone that I am aware of in terms of sound quality. They are also easy to drive and wouldn't require an external amplifier to power them.

Ability to switch can be had with a preamp.

For example, I use a rotel RC-1070 preamp to connect my computer and game system's sounds. It can select between any one of them. My headphones are powered by it's headphone output.

Also, you could change your listening habits as to not be so careless to get the headphones snagged within the chair. This alone costs $0 and solves the wireless/wired problem while allowing you to obtain far superior sound quality for less money.

I was'nt careless,TYVM.You must live in a perfect world, lol.I did repair the sennheiser though,so it's all good for now.:)I would still like a suggestion for a blue tooth unit that fits my mentioned needs.I'm googled out.I also want to start working out again,so something wireless for the gym would be awesome.:)

Nope, I do not live in utopia, I just care for the integrity of my belongings. I've never gotten the headphones caught on anything. You may not have been without care, but you certainly were without enough care if it got snagged. If you are in an environment that doesn't afford you the ability to have enough care so that the cable doesn't get snagged, you are one of the candidates for wireless headphones.

With that said, you will have to accept all of the compromises that come with that, limited to no design choices, potentially high costs, no real ability to choose excellent sound quality, and high possibility of accepting interference.

Bluetooth just is not a wireless technology that high fidelity companies have R&D resources invested in (yet) unfortunately.

Besides the Etymotic Research, have you looked through Sony, Jabra, Motorola, and Plantronic's offerings?

I like to roam about alot and miss wireless which i have had before.I had a logitech bluetooth set and the quality was fine enough for me.The bad news was that they cracked after some time right in the middle of the headband, and it happened on my replacement set as well. This was some time ago though.

I am looking for bluetooth that can be set up with a reciever of some sort that does not use usb but more like a plug and play reciever that can go into any device.I did this with my pc and tv and was quite happy.

Well, one item has caught my eye that is new from motorola.

I don't know if i can get this to work as i wish though to function strictly thru a reciever like mentioned and not a device.Thoughts?

I am also considering the Logitech Free pulse(they do back their products well,as i found easy replacement no charge),but can almost best that motorola sound quality would be sweet.

I see, the problem is that most of them use USB interface and you want to plug it directly into a HT-type receiver which usually, do not have a USB output.

Frankly, I think the Logitech offers the feature set you need as it has the normal 3.5mm input. You can simply get a L/R RCA to stereo 3.5mm adapter from radio shack. As long as the sound quality is up to your standards, it should be fine. An additional thing to keep in mind is the comfort. The behind the head design with the plastic resting on top of the ear is not comfortable for me, perhaps it will work for you?

Thanks.Ya,i'm not too thrilled about the over the ear plastic.
I saw a couple universal bluetooth recievers like the logitech one that claim multi functions,so i am going to ask motorola if it should technically be feasible to work paired up.
