I just put together a new box with some random Thermaltake HSF on it..... that stupid thing is SO LOUD i can't do anything in the same room, it jsut annoys me beyond belief.

Can anyone point me to a silent socket 775 heatsink???

I am using a factory intel heatsink. Not to loud and does the job, for the most part. Don;t know how well it would work at/above 3.6 though.

i picked up what i believe to be the quietest HSF out there - the Spire WhisperRock IV... but it's for a 462... cools fairly well also.

perhaps they make something similar for 775s?

what is the diff. between all the sockets anyway?

why go specificaly for a 939 vs a 462

i figured you would look at what type of CPU it is first then match up socket types

All heatsinks are quiet.

If the one you have is all copper, or at least has a copper base, then just replace the fan.
