Alrighty, this should be very very very simple, but I can't for the life of me find out where the heck to change IE 5 preferences. Yes, I can go under "internet options", but where can I set default actions for file types, and whether IE asks before performing those actions?

Right now when I click on a link to download a file, it automatically opens up the app to launch the file. I want it to bring up the little box that allows me to specify what to do with the file. How do I accomplish this???

Why won't that one stupid site allow me to use my beloved mozilla? ;)

Tried that... no dice... when I click on the link, it still starts downloading the file to a temporary folder, after which it launches it using whatever program is associated.

Surely this isn't that hard?

look in internet options/security/internet /custom & check that file download is set to enable! :)
