So i bought a 74gb WD Raptor from dell.... it was broken so they sent me a refurb drive that says the following on it:
WD800
WD Raptor
Serial ATA Hard Drive
80.0 GB

is this a 74 gig raptor or what's going on here?

It's exactly what it says, it's an 80gb raptor. It appears that dell is the only one that got those, but somebody else had asked about that before, and we even managed to find the 80gb raptors on western digitals website.

hehe... so can someone please answer my question before i open the hard drive (will have less chance of returning it if i find out it's not really a raptor later on)

stevty2889 told you it is an 80GB Raptor and you have made enough posts to be able to recognize his name and therefore the quality of his posts. When I RMA'd a 20GB drive with WD a few years ago, I also received a larger 60GB drive. Count yourself lucky, open the package, install the drive, and have fun.
