Ok I am at my ends rope with this PC I am working on. I got this PC from a guy at work ... he used the PC for about 2 years ... worked fine ( I even used it a few times) anyway I know before he gave it to me it worked fine. He had to take the HDs to his new PC, but that was it.
Its a:
- PIII 733 / 133 bus
- DFI CA64 Mobo
- 3x 128 mb PC133 SDRAM
- ATI Rage Pro 32mb AGP
- 40 GB West D Harddrive
- Enermax True 350W PS
I tried everything to get this thing to post ...
right off the bat I get this weird gurgle tone from the PC speaker ... so I power off and check all the connections again (20 min look over). Everything looks fine, Video Card is in tight, RAM is in snug, Everything that needs power has power, CPU was fine when I placed it in ... used some Artic Silver on the HS and I was off to the races.
SO I try again ... still I get this gurgle constant tone from the PC speaker. Its not even a beep at all, and I am thinking ... man my mobo might be shot. However I tried a few more things.
1. Replaced the Video Card with a 32mb 3D Labs Oxygen VX1 ... still no go.
2. Reset CMOS ... still no go.
3. Unplugged all devices (sound, NIC, CDROM, DVD ROM, 2x128mb RAM slots) ... only HD (that I know works fine), 1x128mb RAM, AGP Video Card and the CPU are plugged into the mobo ... (power too!
)
still I get this stupid gurgle tone ..... aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
So as of right now the PC will not boot or post, I can't get it to turn a monitor on (using a KVM switch). No BIOS no nothing....
wtf is wrong with this thing?
Can anyone help me?
Suggestions?
Things to try?
thanks for anything you guys / girls can think of.
